Children read a playground before they reach it. A bright palette pulls the eye from a distance, and repeating colours within the layout turns them into signals: one shade for the route up, another for the way down, a third for the quieter pieces at the edge.
The same logic works at closer range. A long multi-coloured tube slide makes its entrance obvious to a child who cannot yet read signage, and a colourful turning wheel ride becomes a landmark visible from the park gate.
Colour only helps if it lasts. Frames use 116 mm hot-dip galvanized steel pipe with engineering plastic components, and finishes are specified for outdoor exposure, so a site does not grey out after a few seasons of sun and rain.
Even so, strong sunlight and heavy weather age any surface over time. We recommend inspecting the most exposed panels periodically and touching up where wear is heaviest, rather than waiting years for a full repaint.
A bright playground is often the most visible thing in a park, which means it also shows the weather. Wet seasons bring mud onto the routes, dry seasons bring dust and glare, and both change how the space is used.
Planning the layout with drainage and shade in mind keeps the colours readable all year. A painted entrance gate feature can mark the way in and hold a clear focal point even when the ground around it is wet and dull.
Shade is worth planning early. A playground with no cover becomes uncomfortable at midday in summer, and children simply stay away, so a few well-placed trees or a canopy will do more for the site than another piece of equipment.
If the existing frames are sound, a tired playground can sometimes be renewed rather than replaced. Worn panels, seats and moving parts are swapped out, and a new colour scheme lifts the whole site. Where the structure itself has aged beyond that, a new build is the better route.
A refresh keeps the structure and replaces only what shows its age, which is usually cheaper than a full rebuild and quicker to complete. We can advise which route suits a particular playground once the frames have been inspected on site and the wear points are identified.

Colour draws children in from a distance and helps them read the space. It can mark entrances, separate zones and give a plain site a clear identity without adding equipment.
We start from your surroundings, brand or local character, then agree colours before production. A custom logo can also be applied to the finished build.
Materials and finishes are specified for outdoor exposure. Strong sunlight and heavy rain still age any surface over time, so we recommend periodic checks and touch-ups of the most exposed parts.
Sometimes. If the frames are sound, worn panels and fittings can be renewed. Where the structure itself is tired, a new build is usually the better route.
Frames are 116 mm hot-dip galvanized steel pipe with engineering plastic components, supplied under CE certification and sized to match the ground you are working with.
