The 5WPP-03 is built around shallow water on purpose. It is the easiest thing to get wrong when a venue copies a layout from a bigger site. We keep standing water minimal, so most play comes from moving water — spray, run-off and slide discharge — rather than from a deep pool.

Choosing Spray Heads That Suit a Shallow 5WPP-03 Zone

Spray behaviour changes once the water is shallow. A nozzle throwing a hard, narrow jet works in a deep pool, because the impact is absorbed. On a shallow pad the same jet knocks a small child sideways. We aim for wide, low-pressure patterns instead.

Draining and Refilling the 5WPP-03 Safely

Shallow pads collect what children bring in — grass, grit, sunscreen — and that debris reaches the drain faster than it would in a pool. A weekly flush plus a daily skim keeps the deck honest. Refill volume is small, which keeps water bills down, but that advantage disappears if the pad runs on a wet day, so make the on-off decision part of the morning routine. Where a venue also runs a full inversion top spin, water and power peak together; staggering schedules spreads the load.

Watching Surface Slip Risk on the 5WPP-03 Deck

Most injuries in a splash zone happen on the deck, not in the water. Wet-deck surfacing carries that job and is installed by your contractor, so we hand over the feature layout with drain positions marked. Keep a squeegee and an absorbent mat at the exit so children do not carry water into the next area. If your site also runs large inflatable games for high-traffic venues, a dry route matters twice as much — wet feet and inflatables are a real hazard.
