Flower-Basket Cabins: Moulding a Garden Identity

Most wheels are recognised by their lighting or their height. This one is recognised by its cabins. The 20m Flower Basket Ferris Wheel 5FW-05 uses flower-shaped gondolas, so the ride carries a garden identity in daylight, when lighting does nothing for a photograph.

That distinction has commercial value. A themed cabin gives a park a shape guests can describe to somebody else and a backdrop that works from ground level. Twelve cabins carry forty-eight passengers per cycle, so the theme costs nothing in capacity, and the wheel turns at a comfortable eight minutes per revolution.

Cabins are moulded in FRP over a steel frame, and the flower detailing is part of the shell rather than an applied panel that can lift at the edges. Colour and logo are customizable. Parks running a wider garden or botanical theme usually extend the idea with a 30m flower basket wheel once they need a taller centrepiece.

Wheel Geometry: A 14m Ring Inside a 20m Height

The geometry is worth understanding before ordering. A 14m wheel diameter sits within a 20m overall height, so the ring is proportionally wide for the structure. Riders get a full circular journey rather than a small loop lifted high, which is what makes the ride feel generous at this scale.

An 8KW drive turns the wheel at eight minutes a revolution - faster than a large wheel, slower than a carousel, and tuned to a ride families take together. Because the ring is wide for its height, the ground-level boarding platform is longer than many operators expect, so allow seating and gate space across that span rather than at a single point.

Foundation, Assembly and the 11m by 18m Plot

Cover area is 11m by 18m, and the longer dimension follows the wide ring. That plot should be level, drained and clear of buried services before the base is cast, with room outside it for the queue lane and a maintenance approach.

Assembly follows a fixed order: base and legs, hub and axle, then rim and spokes, with cabins fitted once the ring is closed and rotation has been checked by hand. Installation pictures and videos are supplied, or our staff can attend site to guide the build. Foundation drawings come with the order so your contractor can price the civil work from real dimensions.

Access for the delivery vehicle and the lifting equipment should be checked before the base is poured, not after. Because the ring arrives in segments, the laydown area has to be flat and firm enough to hold sections without distortion while the crew works.
